Walking with the Saints: A Pilgrimage for St. Mark
Who: All are welcome. All youth (under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult.
What: A 4-mile walking pilgrimage
Where: From St. Helena Catholic Church (3204 E 43rd St, Minneapolis) to the Church of Saint Mark (2001 Dayton Ave, Saint Paul)
Why: To carry our intentions to St. Mark, in anticipation of his feast day
When: Saturday, April 20. Pilgrimage begins with opening prayers at 9 AM. We will reach our destination around 11 AM. After closing in prayer and offering up your intentions, all are invited to join for casual lunch and fellowship at Mario's (a four minute walk from St. Mark's).
How: In the interest of simplicity and keeping this a regular, free opportunity for embodied prayer and fellowship, transportation is not provided for this pilgrimage. We recommend: (a) arranging with someone else to drop you off and/or pick you up on either end; (b) recruiting a friend to join you and dropping one car at the end before 9, then driving together to the start; (c) being prepared to ride share or take public transportation back to the start; or (d) walking back.
Both St. Helena's and St. Mark's have an 8 AM daily Mass on Saturdays, so depending on your transportation / car drop-off plans, consider going a little early to participate in the Sacrament at either parish. St. Helena's also offers Confessions from 8:30-9.
